To enhance our Christmas Worship Services you can donate a Poinsettia Plant in either Pink, Red, or White. Take time to remember or honor that special someone in your life. You can pick up your Poinsettia after the 9:30 a.m. Christmas Day Service or during office hours the following week.

During this year’s Season of Giving, we will once again distribute more than 100 Thanksgiving and Christmas meals. We will be collecting items for the food baskets and personal care items for gift bags to give to those in need in our community.

LWML Sunday theme is “Kingdom People Produce Kingdom Fruit,” based on Matthew 21:43. We will celebrate Lutheran Women’s Missionary League the weekend of November 7-8. You can find out more information about LWML by going to www.lwml.org.

This year Zion will be enhancing our envelopes so that each one is self addressed to Zion, so that it can be sent via US Mail along with being used for the collection plante. This is a great feature for our members that are not attending church in person due to COVID.

At our voter’s assembly last week, we had a majority vote to call Pastor Daniel Potts to be our next pastor at Zion, followed by a unanimous decision to extend him a call. Call papers and other documents have been sent to Pastor Potts. We need to keep he and his family in our prayers as he considers this call.

We are in need of the following items for our Thanksgiving Baskets – Instant Potatoes, Box of Stuffing Mix, 2 cans of Corn, Canned Yams, Cranberry Sauce, Gravy, Jello, Cake & Frosting , Fruit Cocktail or Pineapple. Deadline is November 15. Contact Gail Mueller if you would like to help.

Baby Bottle Boomerang has started. Pick up a baby bottle at the Welcome Center this weekend and help support Beacon of Hope. Fill your bottles with cash, coin or checks (made payable to Beacon of Hope). Bottles should be returned by Monday, October 26.

Week 2 of the 7 week sermon series, “Heart Issues are Hard Issues,” continues this Saturday and Sunday. It’s not too early about this year’s “Holiday Helping Hands” program. Personal care items are needed to fill 100+ bags for disbursement at Christmas to those receiving food baskets.
